Speer Deep Curl 300gr.

Is this the Deep Curl bullet everyone is talking about. I tried to order them from Midway USA but they were out of stock. Just wanted to make sure this was the exact same bullet as the Deep Curl.

Yes. Deep Curl and Gold Dot are the same thing. They had to change the name for legal reasons.

Yep, it looks correct to me. I order mine from Grafs or Powder Valley usually, but they should be the same. These are great bullets, and I'm sure you will like them. I wish I'd made the switch a lot earlier.

I picked up my first box of Deepcurls last night at my local store (Greentop!). I have been basically holding one in my hand ever since. Like a blankie. There's something about that bullet...I dunno what it is. Can't wait to shoot it.

I noticed that the base isn't flat...will it shoot OK out of the standard Harvester Crush Rib sabots?

They need to start marketing these bullets appropriately. With the right advertising, I bet they would catch on like wildfire. They already seem to be catching on very well by word of mouth.

I shoot them out of Harvester Crush Rib sabots and they shoot great for me.

The first time I shot them I shot them out of the smooth sabots. In my gun they did okay, but in a buddies we tried them in they were extremely hard to load. So I my buddy got some crushed ribbed sabots and I they worked great in my buddies gun. I tried the crushed ribbed sabots in mine too, and found they worked even better in mine too, although the others had worked okay. I've stuck with the crush rib sabots since.

BTW I see you mentioned Greentop had them. How much were they there? I'm about 1.5 hours from Greentop.

Sweet. I have the red crush rib too, just in case I have room for them. :)

They were right at $19. They only stock the 300gr in .452 diameter. No 250gr, which is what I was hoping to buy. I'm sure the 300gr will do just fine. :D

I would think the 300gr. would be plenty of medicine for anything you wanted to hunt. Good to hear about the Crush rib sabots. My endeavor has always liked the Harvester short blacks but I went ahead and ordered 150 of the crushed rib sabots just incase. I hope one of these will give me the acurracy i want.
