I Bought A New Muzzleloader

I've been wanting one of these for a long time. I finally got around to ordering one.

It's .50 cal caplock. It won't hurt my bum left shoulder. It won't hurt the broken thumb in my left hand. I can shoot it right handed, and aim with my left eye. I can use it at a rendezvous, and fit right in. It will make a fun small game gun.

Figure it out yet?

It looks really nice. I have both .32 caliber and .45 caliber cap and ball side lock pistols and I love to shoot them both. I know you'll love that one. I would love to get a .54 caliber cap lock pistol to go with the two I already have.

You are going to have a ball with your new toy. I have a 50 cal Kentucky Pistol that everyone here loves to shoot. Another fun gun is the 45 cal Philadelphia Derringer. I cant hit anything past 10 yards with mine but really get a kick out of shooting it.

I would have liked a .45 or even a .40 cal. Other than the shoots. I'll probably be hunting snowshoe hares and jack rabbits. A.50 is too big for squirrels.

Some rabbit stew with a caplock pistol sounds like fun.

Of course any coyote I can call in close is in the dirt.

The part I love is rabbit season is 4 months long, and I can hunt the whole state. A lot different than just 9 days for big game, and you can only hunt one unit. If you get the draw. I'm done with it.

4 months of rabbit hunting in snow, is all I need to satisfy my hunting urge.

Congrats on the new toy!! BP pistols are a blast to shoot!!

I have a yearning for one of them too. I'm looking at a .50 but would prefer a .54. I want to use mine as a companion to one of my caplock rifles in either caliber to add that 'finishing shot' if necessary. Besides, it would be way cool to be toting it hooked on your belt.

I have been serially thinking of getting one of these. They look like a hoot to shoot. Have fun and good luck!!!
