Bloodlines/Lehigh question

Are these bullets the very same bullets? Not sure if there was some type of difference with the Bloodlines or if they are the exact same? Also, what kind of sabot is shipped with the Bloodlines? Thanks for the info.

Basically yes! but actually no.... but it really depends on when the bullet from Lehigh was produced - old stock new stock.... it is my latest understanding any ML bullets Dave produces now will be of the Bloodline design.

There are cosmetic differences the knurling is straight up on the Bloodline and tilted on the older Lehighs. The base instead of being flat based with a sharp corner is now rounded.

Lehighs do not come with sabots - bloodlines do...

Older Lehigh with slanted Knurling but rounded base...

Can not believe it but I do not have a picture of a new one...

So, if I order from Lehigh, which bullet will I be getting? How do the Bloodlines fly in relation to the Lehighs?
Sabot do you know what kind of sabot that is with the Bloodlines?

You will be getting what Dave has in stock, which could be either one at this point. Flight is uneffected by the cosmetic changes. The straight up and down knurling MAY be a little easier to load in a tight bore.

The slightly rounded base is for the Smokeless folks that shoot the bottoms out of a sabot with a sharp base. I think GM54-120 presented the case for that.

They are MMP sabots. There is still some question about the two different 50 cal sabots available for the .452 bullets. I believe they are both HPH-24's but Tom says the Orange one is am EZ load but when Omega45 mic'ed it - it measured as a 24.

The sabot for the .458's is the MMP HPH-.457-.458/50 sabot and it is dyed red for Knight instead of Orange...

This is just my opinion.. but the .458-275 grain Bloodline might be the best all-around bullet of the bunch big for deer but deadly and certainly OK for thicker skinned animals.

There still is some question about how much longer Dave will be able to sell ML bullets. If Knight comes out with a 45 soon or even next year that bullet will go into the Bloodline bullets as well. Knight has had a tremendous response to the Bloodline.

I think if you get Lehighs 300gr 458 it will be a very similar base as a Bloodline but the 452-250gr or the 458-275gr wont have the Bloodline changes Sabotloader mentioned.

That 250gr is longer. That looks much different than the 250 Lehighs i had. It looks as long as a 275gr.

I want to try a 50-325 or 300gr for 54x50. I think my 275s are going to be nasty in the Harvester 54x45s.
