Authentic would be a straight 1-48. I would prefer a more RB twist, but then it wouldn't be authentic. I want a gun just like Kit Carson had. |

Gain twist barrels were used in the Spencer repeating rifle in the mid 1800's and in the harpers ferry muskets.so I think it would be ok to have it in a hawken

Custom White ThunderBolt 451 or 40cal 336 plug with a gain twist ending in 1-20 or 1-18. Extra lug and bedding. Made by Doc of course.
