Well done Pluckit. If you had it to do over again would you still use the Polycrylic?
|
Really nice. What did you end up using to finish the stock?
|
I didn't sand the last coat. I think if I did it would look like glass. But it looks nice the way it is and I didn't want to risk messing it up. And yes, I would use it again. It was quick and easy and the end result looks great. I wound up putting 6 coats on the stock.

But I did visit Traditions where I bought it off the rack in their company gun store. It's located about 40 miles away from me and I try to stop in there once in a while. You did a really nice job with that stock. But try not to ding it up though. I've done it by walking right into an ancient strand of barbed wire that was left strung up in the middle of the woods. At least the stock protected me by taking the hit. But when it does happen you don't forget it because it leaves a scar. |
arcticap,
If you remove the lock, which is very easy, You should see a tiny screw with a tiny spring. You can adjust this sear screw to make your trigger a hair trigger if you wish, although that would be dangerous. But it is a nice thing to have and makes adjusting your trigger very simple. |
That you pluckit, I've made a note of that. Some locks can certainly benefit from an adjustment.

first Traditions Deerhunter target
Yes, I only took 4 shots at 45 yards. I lost the nut to the rear sight and quit shooting. I need to finish adjusting the sights.
