390 grain in .452 dia for TC Bone Collector
Has anyone shot this out of a inline before? Bull shop has 100 of them for 25 dollars. It would be interesting to shoot them out of my TC BC. Just don't know if I should order them. It would be a hell of a bullet. Imagine what it would do to an elk or milk jug. hehehe

That thing would have to hit like a freight train. I imagine it would shoot pretty well out of a 1:28 or faster twist barrel with the proper sabot.

452 in a sabot in a TC BC - that might be interesting from a light weight TC...

Thats what I'm worried about. That TC is soo light. Hell the recoil with my 300 grain XTP is equal to my 450 Marlin. I would dare to say with a 390 it would be close to a .458 lott. Then you get to the point of flinching and not shooting worth a darn. Wish I could just get like five just to say I tried them. Probably just stick with my 300 grain XTP Mag or find some cast bullets that would be equal to that.

I bought an open box of these old bullets, .457 diameter - 405 grain Winchester bullets. They should be good enough to use on an African safari.

Where are you going to get a sabot long enough to hold them properly?
|
Ive shot a 385gr with 120gr of BH209 in a light carbine, needless to say recoil is brisk and not for the faint of heart.

Yeah. I just think the TC Triumph over time couldn't handle the recoil. You probably would have to lock tight everything and I mean everything. My .450 Marlin scope and scope base as perment lock tight due to the recoil. My Triumph just has the med. I might be fun to shoot 5 rounds through. Just been think about getting away from the 300 grain XTP Mags. They are just getting too expensive for 50 rounds. Would like to find something that is cast and equal the XTP MAG.

http://www.powerbeltbullets.com/powe...s-bullets.html Plus there's also ballistic bridge sub bases from MMP which provide "Additional Gas Seal Cushion/protection of Sabot Base Improved Accuracy!". Has anyone ever used the sub bases with a heavy weight bullet/sabot combination? |
