Ahhh new sabots are nice!
The last time i shot the black crush rib sabots, i didnt have much luck. Harvester sent me some samples to try out and today i use both the black smooth sabot with coreys custom cast .451" bullets in a Red crush rib sabot with 100gr Blackhorn209. Awesome group at 50 yards, but will try them at 100 yards this evening.
I also tried the same load but used the black smooth sabot from harvester and had a 2" group @ 50 yards + they loaded a bit to smooth in the Apex bore. The red sabots really had a good bit of resistance but the way they shot, thats whats needed! When i go out to 100 yards, i'll be trying 110gr blackhorn209 this time around. For safety i even put a sprinkler on in front of me while shooting! 2 fires just broke out on Raton pass " NM - CO boarder" and so im a bit leery now. Personally i think some SOB is lighting these fires and when the first one broke out, a few miles up the pass another fire started some how. |
New Sabots are nice. Whats weird is when you load a patch round ball rifle compared to a sabot rifle. The sabot when your pushing it down feels like melted butter, but you know its a good tight fit. And then the PRB you are beating it with a mallet. hehe
