Change of Pace
Instead of going to the range today I decided to try my hand at my second favorite hobby. I did pretty well I think.
![]() ![]() This is two pictures of the same bushel of Chesapeake Bay Blue Crabs. The limmit here in Maryland is 1 bushel. Here are the crabs ready to be served. This pot holds an entire bushel but there are 2 dozen missing from the one I had. I took 2 dozen to the couple that let me hunt on their property. I give them crabs all the time for that privilege. ![]() |
very nice... some real good eating there.

Blue crabs are at the top of my seafood list pluckit. No.... wait. It might be oysters. No.... maybe crawfish (or grilled red drum). :s2:
That's a nice catch and has my mouth watering. Guess I'll have to break out the boat. |
Very hot day to be out on the bay! You deserve a :guiness:

Looks like you had a good day. I'd post pics of my second favorite hobby but it would probably get me booted off the sight...:)

Nice job, pluckit. Just how do you catch those little suckers, anyway? I'm guessing you use a cage with bait, no? I know nothing about crab fishing. I bet it's a lot of fun.

I used to use traps , but now I use a 1,000 foot trot (or trout) line baited with chicken necks and use a crab net to scoop them off the line as I run it.

Ahhhh dude! You seriously got a case of crabs, better go see a doctor about that!
Awesome catch! Never had crab before but it looks good. |
Too late now. They are all taken care of. Some were eaten last night and the rest were picked today for crab cakes and crab dip.
