Way off topic - Prayer request

I hope you guys don't mind me posting this here. If anyone does the mods and move it.
I have a pretty big prayer request. Yesterday my wife found out she has cancer in her neck. It sounds like it should be pretty treatable, so that's good. But all the stuff that goes along with it seem pretty daunting, and because of her age sounds like she will be at much higher odds for it to come back.
Anyway, if anyone doesn't mind keeping her in your prayers it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Vince

Best of luck to both of you working your way through this. Stay positive and work through it together... They are making advances every day in the things that they can do.

Positive thoughts to you and your whole family....

You've got it SK. Best wishes. Know what you're going through. My sister underwent seven hours of surgery for pancreatic cancer two months ago with excellent results and is now in radiation and chemotherapy.

i always give this link, and everyone shrugs it off. if my kids or wife had cancer, i would be at this office in no time.
this guy takes your dna and takes the cancer out and reinstalls it back into your body, it mutates the rest of the dna to not have cancer...he is like 112 fer 112 in houston texas...not to mention the thousands he has done else where.....much like africanized honey bee hive, if ya change queens, ya change the hive. it wont be africanized anymore...same kinda deal..gl, make the call!

Vince,

Prayer works. I will add your wife to my list.

I suggest you read Romans 8:31-39

lemoyne 06-01-2011 07:11 PM

Prayers will be said and our best wishes.

SuperKirby 06-02-2011 06:00 AM

Thanks everyone. I can tell you both we really appreciate it.
We meet with a couple more doctors tomorrow the surgery also gets scheduled tomorrow. It will be nice to know more details and get an idea what all is involved.

JW 06-02-2011 12:32 PM

Vince - ask questions - don't be shy. My wife has been ill for some time and has had major surgery several times. Each time she has improved. But I ask lots of questions of why, how, when, and where. I ask to see xrays and have asked how the different meds could interact with each other.

And prayers are on their way for you both. It is a trying time but hang in there.

JW

PS and let us know the outcome too!

SuperKirby 06-04-2011 10:10 AM

We went to her appt. yesterday. She has to have surgery on the 23rd of this month and then probably a couple radiation treatments a couple weeks later, but because it was caught early enough the doctor said there's about a 99% chance of cure. So, everything should be ok.

50calty 06-04-2011 05:28 PM

Glade to hear that. Hope all goes as planned.

quake 06-04-2011 06:11 PM

Best wishes for your family, SuperKirby.

That's wonderful news SuperKirby. Don't let anyone talk her out of the chemo/radiation after surgery, even if some opinions are that they got it all and chemo isn't necessary.

cayugad 09-20-2012 06:41 PM

That is great news.. I am very happy for her, with her expectations of good health and for you also. Take care and know you are in my thoughts.

JW 09-20-2012 07:13 PM

Great news Kirby - stay the course!

Prayers on the way.

SuperKirby 09-21-2012 06:16 AM

Weird to see this come up again. Good reminder of the great people here.
Since this topic is up... After the surgery she talked to the doctor about radiation. He said it was optional. The biggest thing to consider is that nobody knows how it effects future children, and since we weren't sure we were done having kids she decided to wait on that. She went in to have an ultrasound done on her neck in January and they said there was no sign of regrowth. A couple months ago she said she thought there was an odd feeling in her neck again, so scheduled another ultrasound. They found another lump right where the old one was. But she's pregnant now so they're just monitoring it. They'll check it again in Dec. to see if it's growing or not, then after the new one arrives in April they will either do radiation and/or another surgery.
So, continued prayers would be appreciated if anyone thinks of it.

idahoron 09-21-2012 06:28 AM

You got it. I will be adding you both and keep us posted how things are going. Ron

Widdy 09-21-2012 07:31 PM
