Target #4 - .50 cal. Traditions Pursuit-100 yards-two 50 grain Triple Se7en Pellets & .45 cal. 300 grain XTP with a T/C MagExpress sabot
Target #5 - .50 cal. Traditions Pursuit-100 yards-two 50 grain Triple Se7en Pellets & Thompson Center Shockwave bullet in a T/C MagExpress sabot.
Target #5 Same as above.
I guess the load from target #5 would drop a deer at 100 yards.
It won't win any shooting contests though.

Yeah that will lay one down for sure, my Trad Pursuit used to like 2 pellets or 100gr loose T7 with 250gr Barnes TEZ.

I guess I am a little confused on targets #1 & 2. Was the first target from a cold clean barrel? I would say that target #3 gave you no useful info. It would have been better to run three sets of 3 shot groups with the three different powder loads. Maybe I am wrong, but what were you trying to gain from target #3? You mentioned deer, so I think you are interested in a good hunting load. I have found that when working with loose powder, I work in 5 gr. increments. You could even narrow it down to single increment loads, but this would not really accomplish much, IMHO that is of course. But I am sure you would have the fun of shooting the tests though. :D

One thing I can say about working up these targets is the fun of it. I love doing test loads. They serve to give us some great info and have a bucket of fun while doing it. This is why I don't consider it work!!!

Keep up the good FUN! :happy0001:

Target #3 was just to show bullet performance with the 3 different powder loads. It didn't work well because my shooting was bad. I was just playing anyway. I allready have a terrific load for that rifle that's capable of 1.5 inch groups at 100 yards. I can only explain targets #1 and #2 by saying I couldn't shoot worth crap yesterday. For the most part, I clean the bore after every shot.
I wouldn't have posted all of the targets because I don't feel they are worthy. But I also don't believe in "Cherry Picking" targets. So I am forced by myself to post ALL results, good or bad, of any range session that I have.
