knight vision?
anyone know why sportsmans guide has these so cheap? is there something wrong with them? I looked at one once and thought it looked ok. Now sportsmans guide has them for 170.00 blued or 200.00 for a stainless, sounds cheap to me. I don't think they make them anymore, do they still warranty them? Just wondering.

I have not heard anybody complain about the Sportsman's Guide Knight Vision rifles.
I would imagine if these rifles were "blemished" the Sportsman's Guide would list it as such in their advertisement. As far as the price I have no idea why they are so cheap. I have heard they are built very well, and at that price I don't think you can go wrong. These are new rifles so I believe they carry the same warranty as all other Knight rifles. The forum member Pluckit purchased a Vision from Sportsman's last week and last I heard he had no complaints with the quality of workmanship or condition of the gun. I do not know if he has shot it yet. There are other members on here that own Visions as well and I have not heard of any major complaints. Good luck with your purchase. |
I have just about convinced myself to purchase one of these in stainless, although the last thing I really need right now is another muzzleloader. Heck, I can't even make time to shoot the ones I have now.
The local mom and pop gun shop I frequently patron has two in stock, both stainless. He obviously can't match Sportsman's price but he's dropped his price as well. If I do buy I will probably buy from him. They have excellent customer service and support and that means everything to me. |
The Sportsmans Guide just raised the price $30.00.
The Sportsmans guide has a good return policy but I think you'll be happy with the gun when you get it. I was. With the length of pull, sabotloader had stated he had a problem with the scope coming far enough back. At first I didn't see any problem but I was only looking through it at 3X. When I cranked it up to 9x I saw that the scope should come back a little farther, but it's all the way back allready. I can use it the way it is but I think I'll just get some scope extension rings for it. I think that will solve the problem. It is a nice gun. I like it and I'm anxious to get it out and shoot it. |
Wow that is tempting. I know Sabotloader and Grouse shot a Vision. And they were real pleased with the accuracy and the way it functioned.

Do you consider the stainless worth the price Sabotloader?

IMO the stainless for $200 is a great deal. They might need a few tweaks but for the price, there is plenty of room for some minor mods. I still have high hopes the "new" Knight will take another look at an improved Vision. Its wouldn't take much for them to be a serious affordable option. R&D to get it there would be minimal. |
The vision is the second best brake open available today.

I am certainly not a break open fan, in fact they do not interest me at all... I have a Triumph and it really does shoot well, and Tom probably will not like this... but if I were to buy a any break open today it would be the SS Vision, it would be my #1 with the Triumph second. When you see the mechanics of their hinge and positive lock-up it becomes clear. Their lock is a latch that you pull tight, something like a Triumph. Plus they do not shoot to bad at all. I did not get to shoot this one a lot before I sent it back to Grouse, but it certainly showed promise.. ![]() |

Sabotloader, out of the box I think the Triumph is better. After a couple tweaks the Vision is much better. Makes you wonder why anyone would buy a accura.
|
when you say tweaks.. what do you mean by that?

Wih the Vision, just take a minute and pull the trigger off, put it in your pocket and take it to a gunsmith.
|
cheap design that works excellent and offers a light weight, crisp trigger. Nothing to complain about there.

Nice rifle at the current price. wouldn't touch it at normal price. way to much work getting it right. Ray
