Help Me Choose A Load and Cleaners
 

I have placed my order for my new TC Prohunter XT Endeavor in stainless. I was hoping that in order to save alot of trial and error and money too, if anyone with this gun could give me some input on what would be a good load and bullet to use out of this gun. What kind of powder do you use, loose or pellets, and what bullet and grains as well? Also some advice on what I need to get in order to keep my gun cleaned and to get the most performance out of it? Does the TC kit they have listed in their catalog have everything for cleaning, or do you recommend something even better? I would really appreciate your time and help. Thanks.

100-110gr Blackhorn 209 pushing a 260-300gr Harvester Scorpion PT in a Harvester crushed rib sabot ignited with a Rem STS primer. You can sub the Rem STS with CCI209M, Fed209A, regular CCI's or Win209's and it should still shoot tight and clean for you. Clean the bore really good before you fire it. Thats a combo I have tried in Encores, Triumphs and Omega's and has always shot great. Have fun!

Buy a pack of patches and some gun oil if you plan on shooting Blackhorn 209. Patches, Windex and gun oil if Triple 7 for swabbing between shots and storage. I would choose loose powder over pellets but thats just me. A can of Triple 7 2F usually runs around 25.00 and 80-90 grains should be a good starting point. Just grab a funnel top for the can of Triple 7 or Blackhorn 209 and a volume measurer. There is a stickey I believe on all the stuff you need to get started.

The first thing i would do, is clean the barrel. Then i would run 50 strokes of JB"s bore paste thru the barrel. Throw that patch away and repeat again. 100 total strokes and you should be ready to work up a load.

Definitely clean the barrel good before you shoot it. I have a ProHunter and it really likes 110gr of Blackhorn 209 shooting a 250gr Barnes TMZ with Harvester yellow crushed ribbed sabots and Win 209 primers. My buddy's Endeavor shoots really good with the 250gr Barnes TEZ with a Harvester black crushed ribbed sabot and a 120gr of Blackhorn 209 and CCI primers. His Endeavor's action will not close with the Win 209 so he uses the CCI's.

I agree with what Omega said. i would JB/oil the bore 50-100 strokes also.remember with the BH to use a centerfire cleaner. i use gun scrubber now and it is great stuff. windex or windex/ alcohol for the 777. barnes .250 TEZ great bullet as is the .250 deep curl with a crushed rib.enjoy urself.Ray

I have an Endeavor, the only difference is the stock.
It shoots many things well the two loads that shoot the best are the 200gr 50/40 Lehigh And the Shock Wave 200gr 50 / 40. The best way to check for the load that YOUR gun will shoot best is to start at 100 gr and go up until the group starts to spread out. You will find that because of barrel whip that two identical guns may shoot different loads better. I have tried many powders and the best results consistently come from Blackhorn 209 with Winchester primers. An other thing that you should know, barrel tolerances for muzzleloaders are large and sabots come with different thickness of petals so you may want to try an assortment to get the best answer for accuracy.

For cleaning BH209 fouling i really have had excellent experience with Birchwood casey Bore Scrubber.
