My Baby Was Delivered Today.

My baby was delivered today and it was a beautiful, bouncing, baby......

HOORAY!!!

If anyone out there has one of these I could use any tips you might be able to offer. Such as, The face of the breach looks as though it is removable for access to the firing pin. Is that right? Any tips about that would be helpful.

That bushing does come out and alows cleaning of the firing pin... The trigger assembly and mechanism drops right out also...

Excellent shooter

And with the new Gordy designed NFPJ breech plug it is really clean when shooting BH or T7.

With that same breech plug and modifying with a larger flash channel and a Lehigh vent liner makes it evem better with BH... if you are shooting any other BP sub - shoot away...

This is the breech area after several shots of BH...

The only problem I had was the LOP was to long to get on the scope using normal scope rings. With extended rings no problem.

I chose to decrease th LOP buy cutting 5/8" of the end of the stock and installing a new recoil pad... The Vision stock is well made and lends itself to this modification...

cayugad's Lyman Great Plains Hunter has me thinking crazy thoughts.

cayugad 04-08-2011 04:00 PM

very nice looking rifle

pluckit 04-08-2011 04:11 PM

Thanks for the info sabotloader. That first group looks pretty tight. The rest don't look too bad either.
And thank you cayugad. I keep thinking about that flint lock though.

Congrats, those are one tough gun and the price is awesome.

Pluckit that looks great. Congratulations. I really like the look of the Vision. It has a unique design. Love the hammerless receiver.

Local gunshop has two in stock. I held one the other day. Only thing I'm not sure about is the length of pull. Seems a tad bit long for my short, stocky frame. Lol.

Sabotloader, what kind of recoil pad did you put on your cut-down Vision stock? How did you go about finding the right size pad to fit the stock once it had been modified?

I thought Knight really had something here when they introduced this rifle. It's too bad it went away....

Rebel Hog 04-09-2011 05:28 AM

Nice!.......

I used a Limbsaver 'grind to fit' (actually sand to fit using a horizontal belt sander) recoil pad because the cut stock is a non-normal size

I think you might see it back yet and hopefully they will make some basic changes in it....

Now clean that bore up and then go get it dirty! Have fun with that new rifle.

50calty 04-09-2011 07:09 AM

Nice rifle. Time to start saving again and go buy urself another gun.

pluckit 04-09-2011 01:32 PM

The Vision is all cleaned out. No more packing grease. No more money left either. The next rifle is going to have to wait a while.
