colorado bullets

i can't find anything in the colorado regs about bullet diameter vs bullet length for muzzleloaders. I know i've seen it before, did they change the rule?

Muley Hunter 03-19-2011 01:07 PM

They changed the law. Shoot what you want now.

Muley Hunter

You can shoot sabots now in CO....

Muley Hunter 03-19-2011 01:16 PM

The law was aimed at conicals.

No sabots unless you do as I do and shoot the rifle seasons.

Well then, andrewstj really can not shoot what he wants to during a ML season...

So in my estimation his best bullet choice would be a Thor at this point. I would certainly put them ahead of the FPB and Power Belt...

I think FG/MD has said they have removed the length requirement but you would have to check with the Colorado folks....

Only other really good option will be if Dave is able to produce a Lehigh sabotless for next year.

Yeah they lifted the "length can not exceed twice the bores diameter" rule last year and its still in effect this year. I also noticed the " must be fired from the shoulder" rule has been removed.

Although i can't argue much with the Thor bullet and it's awesome terminal performance. another option is big lead connies, which also deliver awesome terminal performance and are just plain fun to shoot.Shooting the big lead from the wolverine last week was pure shooting enjoyment.which i had all but forgot about, since last shooting the .54 renegade years ago.they can be awful accurate as well..hell i didn't even mind the pyrodex stink:biggrin: Ray

Groan..........sabots were always illegal. The bullet law only applied to conicals. He was asking about conicals, and I responded about conicals.

So, yes he can shoot anything he wants in Colorado that's allowed in Colorado.

I'm sure he knew what I meant.

You're the one who's confused. :p

Nice! I can start leaving the red tip in my FPB's.
