Thor Ballistics?
This may have been posted before, but I asked Terry for some ballistics and this is what he says he gets with 120 gr BH 209:
These are approximations based on "0" 100 yards yards muzzle 50 100 150 200 250 300 250 gr BT vel 2200 2019 1849 1690 1545 1413 1294 drop -1.5 0.3 0 -2.79 -8.52 -17.72 -31.25 energy 2687 2263 1898 1586 1325 1109 930 yards muzzle 50 100 150 200 250 300 300 gr BT vel 2030 1884 1747 1619 1501 1391 1292 drop -1.5 0.45 0 -3.25 -9.66 -19.86 -34.39 energy 2746 2365 2034 1747 1501 1289 1112 That is a pretty stout load (powder wise) but is interesting. I am not sure I could consistently shoot 120 gr without flinching! Anyone done their own testing? |
Now I see why the 300gr Thor was shooting dead on at 50yd and 100 yds. There's only 1/2" difference.
I love the Thors. Look at the energy it retains. With the expansion the Barnes bullet has. No game is safe from me now. :p |

I would think the Barnes ballistics will be even flatter. Smaller bullet.
