Its in!

Got the replacement and correct size Mag Spark today from Ben! Took what? 3 days or somewhere around there.

Got the threads all taped up and installed into my Mtn Stalker.

Bad news, its snowing like a mofo out.

wow the flash hole is huge. Its also dirty but it fired BH209 in my sidelock instantly!

Man a rifle under 6 lbs with 70gr bh209 and a 295gr powerbelt leaves your face numb

Let us know how the cleaning of the breech plug flash channel goes.. this is the only downside i see. other than that it sounds great to be able to use BH209 in a sidelock.. Ray

Will do. Already inspecting that area. Looks clean as a whistle but i only took 2 shots so far. Going to see if i can put an O ring on top of the primer to hold the primer down tight and seal up the gas thats making everything dirty.

Ok i cleaned the rifle out with 3 patches of gun scrubber and then took out the 209 adapter. I really wish i had treated this thing with Gun Shield because the 209 carbon is going to be a real pain in the butt to clean out. Live and learn right? lol.

I sprayed the bolster with the gun scrubber and let it sit for 5 minutes and then used a q tip to clean out the drum area and to my surprise, i didnt have to scrub the flash channel, the scrubber took care of that area. The barrel and the drum area though do have Bore Coat inside them so thats one deal to bring up just so theres no " Hey i tried this and the carbon was stuck solid!" deal goin on.

Man i want to go shoot so bad but am lucky enough to see 25 yards due to the snow coming down so far, THICK wet flakes and already 3" in just 2 hours.

I bet that light (5.5 lbs I think they are) mountain stalker has a little recoil to it when shoot 209. Glad to hear it went off fine. Actually, even if you wanted to shoot any powder, that conversion would almost guarantee a every time shot... shouldn't it?

MountainDevil54 03-04-2011 05:42 PM

yep it should fire every time with black powder, or the sub powder. We'll see how it shoots tomorrow.

Yeah the recoil is pretty stiff. A crush zone pad will be on order once i find an accurate load.

I bet you it breaks off.

MountainDevil54 03-05-2011 10:38 AM

bite me LOL.

For the others, DO NOT USE THIS ADAPTER WITH ANY POWDER! There is a serious safety hazard with this unit.
