Tried but web site said it is Out of stock. Heck of a buy if you got one for that price.

guess i might of got the last one but i just check they had a few others models
|
Unfortunately, Many of the guns are listed as out of stock. They have some .52 extremes left at 239.99 but the .52 is not the direction I am going. Thanks for the heads up on the site though.

Thanks good prices on 52 cal just bought one

Looks like they got some 50cal LRHs left in stock at a fairly reasonable price. Thats a steal on the Extreme 52cal but i dont need another 52. Sabot selection is a bit limited but the ones available get the job done just fine. Harvester might be offering a new 52x452 sabot for them this year. Knight sells them loose for about $10 for 50. Add a 458 bullet from 220-405gr and you have a gun that will kill nearly any big game humanely. 458 bullet selection is very good IMO and a good match for ML velocities.
I hit the "ad to cart" on that laminate Extreme faster than lightning. :D Too bad they are sold out. The stock and bolt alone are worth that much. |

The slightly faster twist is the main reason i wanted one and the potential for exceeding 3000FPE within recommended load data. Knights recommended .475-375gr is a expensive beast but you can get close to that level with a Speer .458-350gr SP bullet for a fraction of the cost. The 52cal Knight sabots are tough and should handle just about anything you can tolerate shooting. The recoil pad on the 52cal Extremes are a bit nicer too IIRC. I wish they would have focused more on a high end 54x50 DISC option with a faster twist but the 52cal was intended for long range performance so my 458-300gr SOCOMs at about 2000fps will have to do for now. :D |
Ya'll are killing me... I had to have one of the Next Vista camo .52 Extreme's. $293 shipped to my door,,, that's about half off for the same gun on Knight's web site. How could I turn that down!

Killing me to did not need more guns with a safe full looking for new safe know but was looking at 52 cal for some time price was to good muz are so so so so ??????

They have a Knight 52CAL Extreme RHTD for $239.99 on the next page . Im not sure what RHTD means other than maybe a camo pattern. BTW you cant turn it down. Thats too cheap to pass up if you have a use for one. I cant see losing much if you decide its not your cup of tea. If you already have a DISC based Knight they are worth it just for the parts IMO. |
Got my .52 in yesterday... It was new in the box, but not what I would call "new". The Stock and barrel both have a few minor dings on it. It may have been a floor model at one time... but heck for what I paid for it I guess I can live with it. After all, I guess it is just a hunting tool.

My 52cal is one of the few i didn't JB right away. It is a LRH 52cal and the sabot fit/"feel" is nearly perfect IMO and the bore was sweet right out of the box. IMO clean it well and shoot it first. Then decide if you feel it needs to be polished. I would get some 52x458 sabots and for bullets: .458 325gr FTX, Speer .458 350gr HotCor and some cheaper .458 300gr HPs like the Remingtons or Sierras. When you want to get a bit more fancy: Barnes .458 300gr SOCOMs and some Lehigh .458 samples in 275 or the over sized .459 277s. The new Lehigh 300gr ML bullet should be awesome too but ive never tried them. Knight even recommends the 325gr FTX and at nearly 2000fps its a "big boomer". :D IMO to take full advantage of the slightly faster twist, the 300gr+ bullets are the way to go but the little .458 220gr will certainly do the job too on deer. BTW the 325gr FTX is on sale at Cabelas for about $28/50 and is quickly becoming one of my favorite affordable bullets even though im not a FTX/SST fan. |
I use JB just to remove sharp edgers on all my gun about 15 strokes and go from there have the horandy .458 325gr ftx to shoot for know paid 20.68 at big supply shop.com lehigh has the 300gr just for 52 but knight will be sailling in april some time will be called blood line
|
One of the reasons i mentioned the slightly over size Lehigh 277gr is its cheaper than his other 458s and they fit nice and snug. Its long for caliber but a middle/light weight by 458 standards so that slightly tighter fit might help if you are trying to push them fast.
Im not sure how his contract obligations will effect his ability to sell his DOA when Knight starts selling them as the BloodLine so getting some samples soon is a safe bet if you want to save a few bucks. ;) |
will the .549 277 doa bullet shot good in the 52 being only .990 in lenght for the 1-26 twist and how hard is it to load have you used this bullet

Actually that 275 or 277 gr bullet might be a great all around choice if you are looking at premium quality/cost bullets. Grouse and SabotLoader are more experienced with the Lehighs in the Knight 52 and the reports look really good to me. |
mine was a floor model also, but for that price i am happy.
