What's the point in shooting a .451 cal. bullet out of a .54 cal. muzzleloader? The bullet is sitting in a .54 cal sabot.
These bullets are discontinued.

They make sabots that will shoot .451 or .451 bullets take your choice. Both Speer and Sierra still offer 451's menat for 45 ACP's.

What size are the sabots you have? I do not really recognize it....

It's a .451-.452 .54 cal. Thompson Center Mag Express sabot.

The point is - because you can and want to. :s2: Ain't nothing wrong with playing around just for the fun of it.

Actually, I'm not a fan of shooting bullets that are well below bore size, like .40's in a .50 caliber or .45's in a .54. But a lot of guys do like them and get good results.

Shoot away... i forgot about them - think i still have a bunch of 'em. If you ever need anymore give a shout.

I shoot a lot of Hornady .452/300 grain XTP's from my 54's works really goot!..

I'll keep that in mind sabotloader, I have 100 bullets but only 50 sabots. If I start plucking out the center of a bulls eye with them I might need some more.

I wonder how those short .452/250 grain Gold dots would shoot out of my slow twist .54 Great Plains flintlock? (Or would that be a sin too? :confused0024: . :D )

Fortunately.... Sins can be forgiven - both at home and up above - I know for sure!

These are going to be coming out of the end of my chopped off .54 cal. Renegade barrel. Hopefully tomorrow, if it doesn't snow too much tonight. I will certainly post the results.
