I have 3 TC rifles and I use the pillow ticking material from Walley World (blue) get a couple yards wash it let dry (air dry)cut in 1 1/4 strips and cut at the barrel and for a lube just plane old Simple Green and water 50/40 in a squirt bottle cleans the bore when loading and you can clean your hands at the end of the day with it. also clean the rifle at the end of the day also. One more thing you may try use a patch removal jag and a cotton ball run it through once and use a bor lite to see it there is any burs in the barrel the cotton ball will leave bits on the burs I am assuming this is a new Hawkens . Have fun and be safe.
