Worked the Wolf out today

Went out to the range again even though the wind was horrible. I had gusts so bad that it took my rifle case and threw it half way down range.

I also threw some 100gr blackhorn209 and 250gr Aerolite Powerbelts down range as well. :barmy:

100 yards

Rays pic,

Im not sure what it measured center to center but a new 2010 penny covers it.

I didn't have a pass out feeling today after i squeezed off the 3rd and final shot, just almost puked LOL. I was looking through the scope and when the smoke cleared i was like WTF, did it cut another hole in the center of the last 2 shots?

Cool baby! It matters.

I think that wind your experiencing is headed this way. The National Weather Service is issuing wind gust warnings for the next couple days here in central Indiana.

That is damn good shooting for 100 yards.

How much of a part do you think that fancy shooting rest plays in your groups? What I mean is I use a very inexpensive rest, and have always wondered if my groups would improve with the use of a more designed rest.

That is some very good shooting.

i honestly think the weight of the lead sled "23lbs" and being able to use the control arm for minor adjusts plays a huge part in being able to shoot tight groups. The sled does have some areas that need tuning and certain ways you need to hold the rifle to get the pin point accuracy but once you learn them, accuracy is just simply amazing.

Thats great shooting. I picked up my new Wolf yesterday. Got the same scope mount ordered from Cabelas. I had a gift certificate from there from when I retired 2 years ago last April so I thought I'd better use it. I seen my local Wally World has the Bushnell scope like you have in the same camo as the gun. I'll decide it I want to get it or I have a spare Nikon Pro Staff taking up space in my safe. And two jugs of BH209. I'm going to try some Gold Dots with Harvestor Crush Rib sabots and see how they shoot. I also have a bunch of Nosler Partitions I bought at Sportsmans Warehouse when they closed up a few years ago. If this new "10" model shoots as good as my "06" I will be very pleased. I also got my Knight KRB7 that I've need to spend some time with.

Don't be surprised, if them crush rib end up being too loose.

Yeah I'll have to play around with them. They work great in my "06" Wolf with 300gr Barnes Expanders so we'll see.

It is my understanding the 2006 barrel and 2011 barrel with what CVA likes to call their 'quick release breech plug' are two different barrels from different companies.... but, i am far from a CVA person..

Went out a couple weeks ago with a person that was shooting a CVA wolf "new model". We got .500 thors down the barrel, didn't attempt the .501 that came in the sample packs.very tight barreled rifles.. Ray

Hmmm First I've heard of that? Anyone know more about this. I just looked on CVA.com and didn't find anything.
