More tests on the 250gr Powerbelt Aerolite

Well went back to the range today and this time I took out the Accura 50cal. and the new Kodiak 45 cal. with me. I first did some more test on the Aerolites thru thr crony and also shto 2 into some books that I bound together and soak overnight to what I could get out the bullets. As you can see from the picture it was 4" thick and I shot at 100 yards LOAD DATA; AEROLITES 250 110 GR. BH 209 FIOCCHI 616 209 PRIMERS ACUURA 50 CALIBER BUSHNELL DOA 250 ![]() ![]() ![]() Entrance, ![]() Exit, ![]() ![]() ------------------------------------------------------------ WELL WENT BACK TO THE RANGE TODAY AND CONDUCTED ONE MORE PENETRATION TEST ON THE NEW AEROLITES 250 AND EXPANSION TEST AND SINCE I DID NOT USE ANY WATER THE LAST TIME, WENT AHEAD AND PUT 2 1 GALLON PLASTIC BAGS FULL OF WATER BEHIND THE FIRST BOOK AND SOAK THE BOOKS OVER NIGHT AND HERE IS THE RESULT. ![]() ![]() Entrance, ![]() Exit, ![]() RECOVERED BULLET WEIGHT 240.9 AFTER GOING THRU THE FIRST BOOK AND THE 2 WATER BAGS AND 8" OF WET BOOKS. |
They actually look a little bit better than the older PB's, although a better gauge would be firing the bullet at close range into some water jugs, with that same 100 gr load you used for this test.the old PB bullet complaints were mostly about the bullet fragmenting at closer ranges and not so much at 100 yd.on a side note, what are you impressions on the Bushnell DOA scope?
