Harvester Sabertooth
 

Has anyone seen how these perform on game? After doing a lot of research I have taken powerbelts off my list of possible bullets for next year, but these look identical. Do they hold up on deer?

I have shot them and they are an accurate projectile. I have read some reports where people hunted with them and with good success. But I have no personal experience in the hunting department with them.

If i was to hunt with a harvester bullet, it would be the PT gold..the internet reviews on it are very positive..

you better mark these off the list as well because they are limited to 80gr pyrodex RS or equal. The 250-300gr Sabertooths over expand greatly once you start hitting the 90gr mark. Stick around 80gr like you do with the 245-295gr powerbelts and they expand great and hold thick centers.

Is there a reason why you are going with conicals?

Being new to muzzleloading I thought it would be nice not to have to run a patch through after every shot and build up a plastic residue, and I didnt want to have to wrestle with my bullet going down the bore if I needed a follow up shot. But I also want a bullet that i know will perform so maybe sabots are a better bet.

I used them for a while they did ok with 100gr RS the 300 gr ST. I just prefer the sabot ed bullets because they shoot flatter with less fliers.

Powder fouling is the reason you need to swab the bore clean after each shot. Unless you can shoot blackhorn209 of course. Round ball,conical, sabot, if your powder is dirty, it wont matter what projectile you shoot.
