traditions pursuit xlt 2 powder question
Hey guys. First post here. I just bought my new muzzleloader. After reading the manual it said that i can only use 130 gr of 777 powder. I did hear though that it doesn't include pellets. So in other words 150gr(3 pellets) is still safe and good. Anyone experience this or have any info. I appreciate it. -Rob

100 grs. 777 shoots real well in everything i hunt with, but I only use loose powder no pellets for me.

You've got it correct. You have to reduce your load by 15 percent if using loose triple 7 (to get close to 150gr pyrodex or real black powder). Pellets, however, and you can use 3 (150gr).

I just bought a Pursuit 2 XLT last week. I had an issue with my Omega and needed a rifle right now as the season was opening in a few days. I live 20 miles from Traditions head quarters so I drove down there. I asked about 130 gr. limit and was told that was for loose powder, 150 gr. with pellets is fine. I'm impressed with the rifle, accurate and very user friendly. When I get my Omega back from T/C it's going to be my back up.

Thanks guys.bsteve, they just emailed me back and said what you said. If you don't mind me asking steve, what bullet you using an gr. An what powder and gr.?

I'm shooting 250 gr. yellow tip Shockwaves with the yellow sabots, 110 gr. 777 ffg, Win. 777 primer. That's what I've been using in my Omega, except with a Harvester crush rib sabot. I haven't had time to try different combinations because the season is stii open. It shoots plenty good enough to hunt with. I took a doe with the Pursuit the first day i hunted with it.
