stock project: recoil pad
I am needing some ideas for an recoil pad for my stock build. it is an blank slate to work off of. any recoil pad can be used for any make of gun. I can shape the stock around it. just giving myself an $30 limit.
any ideas or suggests are welcome? |
go with the crushzone. they use them on the cva's and are excellent. best part, they only cost $13
|
Never seen anything work as well as a SIMS recoil pad. Slip on for as little at $24 (amazon.com) but the screw in are in the $38 neighborhood. What is $8 among friends? I have a slip on and can shoot my Muzzy or my 7mm mag all day without a sore shoulder. I also flinch less.

+1 on the Sims.

guess I am going to have up the budget on that one. I use an slip on, on my knight. need to add an couple of inchs.
I am figuring to add an couple of inch to the final stock. either slip on (which is an last resort) or grind to fit or prefit. I am leaning to prefit, thinking an shotgun. |
Just to throw this one out there - these are very good ones also...

I have a Sims on my Omega. Great recoil pad.

I like the Limbsaver that came standard on my Triumph, they are soft and have to be frozen before grinding. Pachmayer Decelerator pads are great too. Brownells had a great selection of pads.
You grind the pad to the stock, not the stock to the pad. |
just an reminder of what I am working with.
