The Mystery of S. HAWKEN ST. LOUIS Solved!!!

I sent out a number of emails with the photos of my mystery S. Hawken Rifle I posted about in the Thread. "Is This An Original S. Hawken Rifle?"

Finally got a reply from Doc White.http://whitemuzzleloading.com/

Here's his REPLY:
"Hawken Shop (St. Louis) reproduction, late 1970's, most probably. Cherry Corner's lock, Douglas 8 groove barrel, breeching (no longer available in that format) typical of the era. Art Ressel was once the owner of the shop. Don't know where he is now. . DOC"

I still need to replace or repair the lock, so if anyone has any ideas, shoot 'em this way.
Thanks for everyone's Help. __Thom

Check with Muzzleloader Builders Supply and see if they have a new lock or the parts you need. They call all that kind of stuff.

I've already been in contact with Greg at the Hawken Shop. Here's his REPLY:

"I don't recognize any features that point to a particular maker. It is a nice gun, but I can't identify it. Try Dave Ripplinger at Track of the Wolf. Elk River MN. He would probably know."

I've sent email to Track of the Wolf, but haven't heard back.
