Hoping for a good day
 

I haven't had nearly as much time to hunt this year as I would like to. I'm getting ready to head out to my stand for the first time this year. I took a walk through the woods a couple days ago, but with the weather we'd had I didn't really expect to see anything. But today I have my hopes up pretty high. My stand is in a new location and I found a couple scrapes around it when I was putting it up. Add to that the clear night last night and the winter storm warning that starts later this morning and I'm really hoping they'll be up moving this morning. Anyway, here I go.

Well that was disappointing. I didn't see anything at all. The only "new" accomplishment (if you want to call it that) is that I don't think I've ever hunted when it was that cold. It was 6 degrees on the thermometer on the barn when I walked by it. Sometime around 8:00 a light breeze appeared and didn't help things out. Oh well. There's still 9 days of the season left.
