Shockwave Ballistics Help
Hey guys, I just bought a new CVA Wolf last week and I went out yesterday to sight it in. I am shooting 200grain T/C Shockwaves over 150 grains of T7 pellets. I was able to get really good groups and consistent accuracy.
So my questions are,1) does anyone have an idea of what kind of velocity and power I am getting out of this? and 2) is this a good bullet/load combination or am I trying to push it too much? Thanks for your help. |
I would guess that you are getting in the neighborhood of 2,150 - 2,250 fps with that combo out of a Wolf. It's moving a bit fast, but other people have shot that bullet at those speeds with success.
At long range it should do just fine. At close range, I would aim behind the shoulder for a boiler room shot in case it fragments some. |
ok, i will be using this combo in western ky so i will be in open country. i would be surprised if i have shots within 50 yards or so.
in that case i should be ok then? |
Sounds good to me.
Good luck on your hunt! Be sure to take some pics if you are able. |

Your 150 grains of T7 pellets should be about equal to 120 grains of loose T7. This is a table I made up several months ago - might help you. From this table you can caculate your ballistics. ![]() |
