Shockwave Ballistics Help

Hey guys, I just bought a new CVA Wolf last week and I went out yesterday to sight it in. I am shooting 200grain T/C Shockwaves over 150 grains of T7 pellets. I was able to get really good groups and consistent accuracy.

So my questions are,1) does anyone have an idea of what kind of velocity and power I am getting out of this? and 2) is this a good bullet/load combination or am I trying to push it too much?

Thanks for your help.

I would guess that you are getting in the neighborhood of 2,150 - 2,250 fps with that combo out of a Wolf. It's moving a bit fast, but other people have shot that bullet at those speeds with success.

At long range it should do just fine. At close range, I would aim behind the shoulder for a boiler room shot in case it fragments some.

ok, i will be using this combo in western ky so i will be in open country. i would be surprised if i have shots within 50 yards or so.

in that case i should be ok then?

Sounds good to me.

Good luck on your hunt! Be sure to take some pics if you are able.

Your 150 grains of T7 pellets should be about equal to 120 grains of loose T7.

This is a table I made up several months ago - might help you. From this table you can caculate your ballistics.

Yeah, you should be fine. The 200 Shockwave can be pushed pretty fast and still gets the job done. I'll be out hunting on Thurs & Fri with the same bullet, though only on top of 80 grains T7 loose :fighting0007:
