This is not a mag.

Have you shot one?

Have you hunted with it?

Had one years ago and if I remember right it was a good shooter using 100 grs.777 Can't recall what bullet I used in it.

excellent shooter. I used a breech plug from my cva accura, put a rubber o ring into the primer pocket and it shot blackhorn209 awesome.

I have one in .45 caliber. Here's my take on it:

Pros:
-Cheap
-Accurate
-Not fussy about loads - shoots almost everything pretty well
-Light

Cons:
-Cheap
-Lots of blowback - get a sock for your scope if you scope it
-Very heavy trigger pull
-Fairly difficult to clean because of all the blowback in the breechplug/bolt area

Overall I like it, but I would like it a lot more if it had a decent trigger. It has the heaviest trigger pull of any rifle I've shot. But it still shoots 1.5" groups with that bad trigger.

I did not have a Hunter Bolt, the one I had was a Mag Bolt, supposidly an upgraded Hunter bolt.

Looks - it really did look great.
Accuracy - the stock or at least the forearm of the stock was very flexible and did cause some accuracy problems when you were using the forearm for aiming support. I solved that problem by floating the barrel.
Loads - I really did not like the max load of 100 grains loose powder and max bullet weight of 300 grains - rules out a lot of conicals.
Bore - this is one of the Spanish Extruded metal barrels - it did not have a consistent bore diameter all the way down the bore.
Sights - really cheap plastic sights - I switched mine out to Williams Fire Sights shortly ater I purchased the gun.
Accuracy - once floated - it really was not bad to 100 yards - very capable of hunting with.

I kept it for 2 years and them move in a different direction.

Really think oldsmellhound covered it about as well as I could here.

If you have not purchased the gun yet - i would suggest to your that there are a lot better 'old' technology guns out there that can be had.

I have one in .45 cal that I use almost exclusively during the season. 100gr of P-RS and 180gr XTP sabots - consistently 1" - 1 1/2" groups at 100 yards.

I forgot to mention, I free floated the barrel and used Acra Glass to bed the receiver. Before I
did that, accuracy was worse, 3 to 4 inch groups
