ballistics
My Dad has a Cabelas Blue Ridge percussion rifle in .50 caliber. I think Pedersoli makes it. It has a 39 inch barrel with twist rate of 1 in 48. He has Barnes Red Hot 180 grain sabots using 60 grains of powder. We're trying to find some ballistics on this load and the rifle. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Thank you.

Here is a chart that might be helpful to you:
http://pages.sssnet.com/go2erie/muzzle.htm
It is for the 180 gr roundball, which should give a similar muzzle velocity as a 180 gr bullet. The barrel lengths of many of the loads differ, but by reading the notes and taking some averages, you might get close to what to expect from your dad's rifle.
Do a Google search for Black Powder ballistics and you'll get plenty to look at.
