Hoppes 9
 

Got a bottle of the Hoppes 9 black powder solvent and patch lube some days ago. A beautiful cloudy and cold day so i took the Optima out today with 90gr charges of Blackhorn209 and 3 charges of American Pioneer 2f. Winchester W209 primers.

I was practicing shooting off my Sling Stix and had 3 shots touching with Blackhorn209 and then 2 more shots touching with APP, the 3rd and final shot opened it up to a 1.5" 6 shot group @ 100 yards :s2: I was happy as hell to say the least.

But anyway, this hoppes is like a gel form type of deal. I didnt expect that until i put a little on a patch. I cleaned that barrel out with 3 lightly coated patches and then ran a 4th one just to make sure. This stuff works better with blackhorn than the regular hoppes stuff.

Optima is shootin center and dead on, ready and deadly for Elk season!

Now to order 80-100 300gr BT Thor's and i'll be set!
