Look up the IL records for PRB bench rest for 1978. |
Excellent shooting.
140 gr BH209? I thought they warned not to exceed 120 gr? Ever. Obviously you're seasoned, so I'm not questioning you. How did you get to the point where you felt safe going 20 gr over the max? |
By doing my own pressure testing. Blackhorn runs about 15 % less pressure than 777 for the same load and velocity they are very close in velocity up to 110 gr., after that which I believe to be the point at which 777 starts coming out unburned Blackhorn shows some improvement in velocity over 777.
I do not say that anyone else should do so if they do not have the test equipment they could run into something I have not, also I do not go over 250 gr with this load as the pressure peak rises sharply with a 300 gr bullet. |
redneck pressure testing at its best! :D

I can't think of but one person who could probably shoot better than that, and with a CVA some APP :s2: and powerbelts no less.
