the 100gr of bh 209 and the 300gr pw plat made my teeth hurt. I was talking to an guy at the range today. told him I was going to be playing with 406gr bullets after hunting season. starting them out low. he told me to put an 100grs behind it.

I understand your concern, but you do realize that any one of those shots = dead deer. I sometimes think we worry too much about covering a dime, when in fact inside a 4" circle will work just fine. I'm sure I will get some interesting feedback.....

Corey this was our "shoot out" with the 45-300gr PB plats. The top 2 are mine then a scope adjustment. Then 4 of us starting with my friend Steve took a shot.

IMO the 300gr PBs do like a bit more powder.

Ive also shot some 45-360gr PR Ultimates but they liked about 80gr and were super accurate. They are insanely priced too.
