Shot some out of the Accura Today. It certainly needs some load development. 80gr shot the tightest so i will work with that the next time and see how to improve the group.



70gr surprisingly shot the worse!


I think the Alox lube i was using, was really screwing things up. Seating was getting real stiff and so i think i will find something else to work with as far as lube.

I have a 1-28 twist 45 cal Green Mountain barrel. I had it on a Cabelas hawken and the stock broke. Before it broke it LOVED the Lee improved MINIE. I sized the minie to .444 and wrapped it with a paper patch. I used a over powder wad and 80 gr of pyrodex P. that is a 5 shot group. Ron

woodtick49, Yes that buck was killed with a paper patched 500 S&W bullet.
I have a tutorial on paper patching for the 50 cal. I thought I posted it here about a year ago. If not I can do it again I have it saved. Ron

We all have minnie balls compared to the weasel. I understand him perfectly. Definitely insane but with a touch of genius.
