Exactly 1 month......
....until the Kansas early muzzleloader season opens up:rock: . I've got a load pretty well worked up; 95 grains of BH209, harvester crush-rib sabot with a 300 grain speer GDHP and CCI magnum primers. I'm shooting a CVA Accura topped with a Leupold Ultimate Slam Muzzleloader Scope. I'm getting about a 1.5" group at 100 yards and I think I'll be able to get it down to less than 1" with a little refining on the powder charge. I'm hunting some WIHA land that my dad and I hunted last spring for Turkey (we saw some HUGE bodied deer out there). I plan on scouting/dove hunting there the first and second weekend of September. Wish me luck guys and if I get one, I'll post pics :woot:.

Let me be the first with a GOOD LUCK MO-KS_Hunter. Our "primitive" season doesn't open until November 12th. I still have a long wait. Won't be planting our food plots until the first week of October.
You won't have any problem with those big deer using that 300 grain Gold Dot. In addition to pictures of your deer, please get pictures of the entrance/exit wounds. |
one month... wow the summer went fast. Good luck to you and everyone in the upcoming seasons.

Good luck on your hunt. Those Gold Dots will serve you well.

It is possible you may get better groups if you use the short black Harvester sabot, instead of the crush rib. The crush rib are some loose in my Accura, so i use the smooth short black style in that rifle. |

U ever try using one of those? |
