scope choices
Hi all, I am learning more and more each time i ask a question on here, so here goes again. I am going to purchase a new inline in the next few days and want to put a scope on it, so what is a good scope with a good bit of eye relief on it (5 in or so). I shot a thompson center with a nikon scope on it and i now have a nice scar over my right eye from it,nice scope, just not enough eye relief on it. What do some of you guys suggest for a decent scope that fits my problem ?...thanks

RE: scope choices
I would suggest a fixed power scope such as Leupold M8, they are in the 4-4.5" range for eye relief. Other manufacturers of fixed scopes may afford that 4" + eye relief as well. Do some checking on the web or cabelas has a pretty good selection, that usually has some specs for scopes.

RE: scope choices
I put a Leupold 3.5 x 10 on my Encore 209x50 and I love it.

RE: scope choices
I agree with skeeter - a Leupold M8 4X Compact has an eye relief of over 4" . I have one on a Ruger No. 1 .45/70, in which I shoot some loads giving 55 ft/lb of recoil, and the scope hasn' t hit me yet. It is the butt of the stock which does the damage.... (har har).
I think those folks who put astronomical observatory variables on muzzleloaders are just comical as hell.....[&:][&:] |
