Wolf @ 100
I took my nephew out to 50 yards early today and he sighted in the Wolf 1 1/2" high at 50. We took it out to 100 yards around 6pm when it was cooler " 85* but no sun" and he squeezed off a shot, and 4" low. Took one more and hit to the right. We slowly walked the shots up and then he took a 3 shot group. I will most likely to 2 clicks up and 2 to the right to get her center.
250gr Slick Load Sabots, 80gr Blackhorn209, CCI 209M Primers @100 yards. ![]() After seeing him do that, i plan on dropping my load down to 80gr in my Accura with these sabots and see how they do! |
very good shooting there.

Thanks for the update. Pat him on the back. That's a fine group!

Good shooting there. You know, I don't think I've ever seen a post complaining about a Wolf's accuracy.

An excellent group.
As a point of interest: When analyzing the velocities of a bunch of loads tested I noticed that for 250 to 300 grain bullets with BH the point at which I got the most velocity per gr of powder was 90 gr of BH. I doubt that it affects accuracy. I just found it interesting that it was below 100gr where for some unknown reason I expected it would be. |
That is a awsome group right there!!!
How old is your nephew??? Reminds me of a friend of mine... He went out and bought a $1000 varmint rifle and then bought a $900 scope for it... Bragged about dime size groups at 200 yards... I finally got to the range with him and actually got a chance to see this beast shoot... At 100 yards his groups were around 1"... Pretty much what I thought... |
He just turned 15. Today i'll be taking him out back again in the evening and set up a deer target for him to have fun and practice off hand shooting.
