Va Turkey
1 Attachment(s)
I was hunting this weekend at our Va farm and this hog of a turkey came in sat am. Hit box call and he came in from pines running right in on 3 decoys set up at 25yds. I had both my Ross and shotgun but once I seen his beard dragging the ground the 12g was in hand. By far my biggest bird. He was 20lbs on my bass scale but not sure how accurate that is.

Man, that's a bruiser Jaybez. You must have put him right down. His feathers aren't beat up at all. Congratulations.

I was thinking the same thing Semisane. You must have knocked the snot out of that pig. Also I think you need a different scale. I would guess that thing around 25 pounds plus. What a beautiful bird.

Thanks.........Head shot and I was so nervous that he was shot coming in like they do with head forward and on a mission. He will be mounted for sure.

Congrats on the nice turkey.

Congrats!!!! That is a fine-looking bird there.

Thats one heck of a beard on that turkey. Congratulations. I hunt turkeys in sw Virginia. By far the least amount of turkeys I have ever seen or heard this year. All the folks in that area swear the super cold weather killed them off. My hunting buddy got a 23lb turkey on opening morning but after that it was all downhill for the whole week of April 12 thru the following Saturday. Maybe I was hunting too early after such a cold winter. Even the hens were scarce. Congrats again
