Im still here

:sign0018::sign0018::sign0018::sign0018:Hey all you guy's just wanted to let you all know that I have'nt forgot ya's. It's been a Crazy Spring with workin and all. It was all good up untill last week when we had a FROST and it wiped out most of our Grape Crop, now tonight with a FULL MOON and temps falling there just may be the end to all ends of the rest of the Grapes with another frost:mad: not good for us Farmers, the frost has hurt our crops that last 3 years running. I hear that Michigan was wiped out too??? plus we had Snow yesterday. anyway I just have'nt been in a real good mood lately so I have'nt been on. I do read the threads but have'nt got much to say.
Hope your all enjoying Spring, Turkey Hunting and your new MLers. And say a Prayer for us Farmers. Hope all is well with everyone!

I'm glad you checked in Breechplug. Been wondering about you. Too bad about the weather thing. I don't know how farmer make it year after year, but you guys are on my hero list. I guess stubborn persistence pays off.

Thank's Semi
I just went outside and got really depressed, the Winds Stopped, now it's just Cold and Calm with the Full Moon, it's not looking good:mad: The only chance we had for no frost was the winds, but now that they quit blowing there's not much to hope for. This may be the only time I wanted the wind to blow, I usually curse the wind when Im Hunting but not tonight. The worst part is tomorrow is suppos-to be 70 and Sunny and then warm for awhile......a few hours of Cold and a whole years work down the drain.

Hi Breechplug, I hear you. It's even colder on our side of the lake. All the fruit trees are in flower and it's too cold for the bees to fly. 28 degrees this AM. Miserable all week. Going to be expensive apples and pears come the fall. Probably all imported.

Frost Up-Date....well it did Frost but it stayed on the ground, Thank You Mother Nature! Between the 3 Frost we had so far only about 30% Of the Grapes Froze, it could have been a-lot worse! We had the 5th Warmest March and April's on Record, were about 3+ weeks ahead on our growing season, one good thing at least the Grapes will ripen in time for the Fall and be a early season. So far the Fruit Trees have taken the Frost.
On a better note our Spring Turkey Season Opened Today. I did'nt go out but there's a Few Toms I keep seeing on the Farms and I have been spitting distance to them a few times, they know me. I just may have to bring my Bow and take one down. That's the only way I'll do it anymore, to me there just too easy and I like a Challange.

We had a fairly cold March in Charlotte. For years it would heat up in marchand the peach trees here would bloom too early and then winter would return and kill the whole crop off. This year everything seem to fall in line except for last week when the temps went down to 35 for 2 nights. Not cold enough to do any damage. I feel for the farmers who put in the work only to have a few cold nights wipe it out.

Yea I know what you mean, Im not a believer in Global Warming Im more of a believer in Weather Cycles, they go in patterns through the ages and were in a wierd one now.
When I was young we Had a Spring that would be warm with hardly ever a frost, and it was warm in April, now we lucky to get a warm May. Now we get some nice warm weather and everything starts to grow then WHAMMM, Cold, Snow and Frost to wipe it all out. Even our Winters changed from when I was younger, they used to be Winter, not Rain, Warm then some cold inbetween, we got snow and it stayed, mabey a January Thaw but that was it. But the Last 2 Winters here have been COLD. It's nice if your not a Farmer!
