Well I bought a new gun. new for me anyway. I don't know a whole lot about it but i trust the forum member that I purchased it from. I can hardly wait to get it this coming week and give it a test run. It is a custom made 50 cal. 1:48 with an H&R lock ( I think). It looked beautiful in the photos. I wll give a report once I get it. I will try to attach the photos that he sent me .

Fabulous curly maple. I'm drooling on my keyboard.

That's a dandy Chetmarks. Beautiful wood. Can't wait for the range report.

I really liked the wood grain, that's the main reasonI bought it. Not a very good reason I guess but any reason works for me:biggrin:

Don't feel bad. I find it very easy to come up with a reason to buy a gun - like "it's getting cloudy, I think I should buy that gun".

That is a very nice southern mountain rifle. If it shoots half as good as it looks you have a winner.

That is a very nice southern mountain rifle.
I'm not at all knowledgeable on historical styles Mr. Flintlock, but was of the impression that southern mountain rifles were full stocks. Does the term also apply to half stocks?
