What do you do with an empty Renegade stock?

Why you buy a barrel, of course.

So I pulled the trigger (actually, I pulled the credit card) this afternoon on a spanking new .58 caliber 1:70 twist GM barrel for the Virtuous Cousin. That sucker cost $190 + $15 shipping from Pecatonica River Long Rifle Supply. It was the last one they had. I sure hated paying retail - but GM shows no sign of going back into production of fifty-eights and they're getting pretty scarce.

Now I can rest at ease. My Renegade obsession is sated with a nice balanced set of four - the scoped Sinful Sisters (.45 caliber 1:30" twist; .50 caliber 1:28" twist; .54 caliber 1:70" twist) and the soon to arrive .58 caliber 1:70" twist (which will remain unscoped and virtuous).

I think I have enough. I'll never catch up with Cayugad, Sabotloader, and Bronko anyway.

I was lucky to land my 54 flinter barel 1 in 66 twist 150.00 shipped but they are few and far to be found for that price and N.O.S. to boot:popcorn:

Empty stocks are a no-no - way to get the job done.... or the next time you really could ask yourself...

What would your idol do?

Mine shoots best with 110 grains of 2f black powder, a .018 pillow tick patch, and a Speer .570 roundball. I dare a whitetail to step in front of that load.

Yeah, that ought to do it. :s2:

I don't have any .570 balls - only .575s that I mold for the Zouave. I'll have to pick up some 570s to try both sizes. I'm looking forward to playing with it, but won't get to shoot it for a couple of weeks. The barrel should be here Monday, but we're leaving Wednesday to visit my sister-in-law in Georgia for a week or so. While the girls are chatting I'll be roving the pawn shops.

Try them .575 the .570 fit nice but not real tight. You might have a good ball there.
