He's doin it!!

Saturday and Nephew Bobby went to Hunters Ed! He spent 8 hours in class and today he will take the test and hopefully pass! Yesterday when i called he was all proud and telling me that everyone in the class got yelled at for putting their finger on the trigger of the rifles they were showing how to handle. Hes the only one that KNEW not to put a finger on the trigger. He was so proud of that moment. He said its bored as hell, but hes learning a lot and is having fun. He's been handling a firearm since he was 3 years old... I actually bought him his first BB gun for Christmas one year when he was 3. His mother didnt like it much LOL but he did great through out the years with it. His CVA Wolf should be in hopefully tomorrow and hes really excited about having his own muzzleloader.

I'll let you all know later this evening if hes going hunting this year or not!

Well the only thing you can do is try to start them young. I did that with my nephew. The funny thing is, while he learned gun safety, he also decided he did not like hunting. Target shooting, he is into, but hunting he is not.

I started my daughter and grandaughter with with Daisy Cub bb guns. This evolved into shooting rifles, shotguns, handguns and muzzeloaders. They both enjoy shooting but neither want to participate in hunting sports. Thats ok though.

Sister just called, Bobby got an 88 on his written test and a 100 on his Gun handling class! Looks like we have another hunting buddy going with us this year!

That's great about getting them started young. It never hurts to teach kids young, it'll live with them through out their years. I too started my boys out young and they really like hunting and shooting but they don't like shooting any thing bigger than a 22 LR. My oldest is 12 now and I'm starting to get him into big game hunting and this year he has to take my 20 ga. if he wants to go deer hunting with us. Wondering what's he is going to think?
