Range report

I put 27 rounds through my Accura trying out the 100 and 150gr Super Sticks with the 245 and 270gr Powerbelts. The 245s did their normal 2" group @ 100 yards with 100gr SS - STS primers.

Had Two of the 270gr Platinums left in the house so i reloaded and took them out back to the 100 yard range. I originally had them sighted in 1 1/2" high @ 50 with 150gr SS. I used the 100gr SS on these Two shots @ 100.

To my amazement, one of the 270's blew right through my sand bucket. That sand was nasty as hell too. You can see from the pictures that is a was a good thick, nasty sandy mud set up.

MD - Real nice. I have those sling stix. They do take some getting used to.

tried 150gr super stick with the 245s and accuracy still stayed at 2"

I went home, got some APP 2f loose powder, 85 grains on the scale and after 6 shots, i was dialed in perfectly. I found that if i give a few minute cool down between each shot, the rifle will print a 1" group with 100gr APP (85gr weight) with the 245gr Aerotip Powerbelt.

Some pictures of the recovered bullets.

Here are TWO 245gr AT Powerbelts recovered from 100 yards, shot with 150gr American Pioneer Super Sticks.

Two, 295gr AT Powerbelts shot with 100gr American Pioneer 2F loose powder @ 100 yards. Again, That darn smooth shaft on the Aerotip is what causes these bullets to erupt into a million pieces. You can see both AT's turned sideways and cracks forming right down the middle on the bullet. I'll retest the 245 and 295's with my inserts later on with 150gr Sticks.

I guess all I have read about these bullets is true. They can't handle heavy ppowder loads. But I am a little suprised about hte platinums. I thought they were supposed to hold up much better?

thanks for the report pal.
