may i ask a stupid question here, why are they called Minies. I would assume the Lee part comes from the brand of mold they are made in?

I have a New Englander for cast bullets but have never shot them through my Omega. How much leading can be expected or should I steer clear of them in my Omega?

minie was the guy who invented the minie ball. I believe it was his last name. Lee is the brand that made the mold.

If you dont lube them with something, you can expect a pretty good deal of leading in the QLA section of the bore. I use lee liquid alox.
