Im Bumming, and SAD!!!!!!!!
A few day's ago My Wife had to go to her Specialist to get shot of Cortozone in her wrist, she's a Nurse and has had problems with them for awhile now.
Last Shotgun Season she was really hesitant to shoot her MLer as she was (Scared) to shoot it as her wrist hurt really bad. She just found out she has to have Major Surgery on her (Trigger Finger) hand and have the wrist (Fused togeather) and she may not be able to Hunt like she used to.
My Wife and I have Always Hunted to geather, especially on Opening Day, it's a tradition and the Guy's have finally gotten used to her being there on Opening day, and look forward to it.
Opening Day was Always for her, and NO matter what went by she was the one that had first shot at it, now it will just be me, alone and wishing she was there, Boy Im gonna miss her!
For all of you that have a Wife, Uncle, Dad, ect that Hunts with you's, Enjoy there Company while you can as they might not be there next Hunting Season..........
She Always wanted a Bigger Buck than mine on the wall, I just hate for the day that I cant go out and Hunt anymore. I know she's still here with me, Thank God, but I've lost enough Hunting Partners.

I really wish I could come up with the right words to give a meaningful thought - but I can not do it right... my thoughts are with you...

Bummer for sure. But I'd suggest that if she's able to support a heavy gun like a Renegade, the recoil/strain of a 200 grain sabboted bullet over 80/85 grains of soft shooting GOEX (or a .54 ball over 65/70 grains) is zilch, and will not put any strain on her wrist from the shot. The only issue would be the weight of the gun. What does she normally shoot?
Best of luck to her (and you) Breechplug.

Sorry to hear of your situation. I know how much I enjoy my wife's company, so I can understand how you feel. Did you ever consider the idea of having her switch shooting to left handed?
I say this because many people don't realize how easy this can be. As a LEO firearms instructor, I have worked with many officers in switching to their off hand side because ofinjuries. It was very important for them to do this if they wanted to keep their jobs.
By switching to her opposite side this would only have her use her bad hand to support the gun's forend. Then she wouldn't have to articlulate her bad hand any which would cause her pain.
In your case, it may help your wife to still be able to go hunting with you and be able to shoot. It is just a thought. Try it if it is possible.
Good luck pal!

I am so sorry to hear of your wife's medical problems. I hope the very best for her and that she comes out of it almost as good as new. As Rafsob said, it is possible to learn to shoot with your off hand. I had to learn it with handgun. So that would mean a lot of range time and maybe some limit to the shots, but it can be done. Something to think about. Otherwise she just turned into your camera crew. Have her film the hunts. The main thing she is part of the hunt and the companionship with you probably mean't more to her then the actual shooting of the animal. My wishes are with her, and you there bud...

Sorry to here about the better half.
My prayers are with booth you and your wife. I lost my dad as a hunting partner due to macular degneration its not fun. My dad lost his hunting eye sight in his right eye first and had to switch to shooting left handed. He was in his late fifties when this happened so I am sure your wife can do it. If all else fails your wife could start shooting with a camera and still hang that big buck on the wall in picture form.
