Hornady made some .58 caliber Great Plains bullets that weigh 525 grains.
They may be discontinued and difficult to find, but The Gun Works lists them:

If their fit is anything like the smaller caliber Great Plains bullets, then they'll fit tighter and be harder to load than the TC Maxi conicals.
But they will also shoot more accurately.

Good question Dave. I have no data on the limits for the TC Big Boar .58 cal rifle. Does anyone have the max limits on this gun?

120 grains of 2f is what Thompson Center claims is the max load. They recommend 90 grains for best accuracy. This is out of there old manual that I have. It also gives fps and energy on ball and maxiball if you ever need to know.

90 grains - roundball fps 1373 energy 1168
90 grains - maxiball fps 1149 energy 1642

That's why the call it a BIG BOAR, it's for killing Big Boar's! LOL, it's more than enough to put some pork on the table. As mentioned I'd go a little higher on the charge, mabey 100gr's+, it's made to take a big bullet, big charges and Big Boars! Nice Looking MLer!

Thanks Lee and Dave. I had no data and was not familiar with the TC sidelocks. As to powder, I am partial to the real deal. I use Goex 2,3,4f for all my sidelocks. I will be trying the higher charges on Monday.
