Wow, aimed neck shot at 83 yds with a ML. You know, I've shot some good groups at decent ranges but have never been able to get myself to try that.

:s2: I know what you mean Spaniel. It took me a long time to build the confidence to take a shot like that - lots and lots of range time. Still, I'll take that shot only when conditions are absolutely perfect. Once or twice I've put the sights on a deer's neck, but for some reason didn't feel I could make the shot and switched over to the boiler room.

Only ever took one neck shot and that was at a bedded deer at 60 yds looking straight at me.aimed and hit right where neck and chest meet and he died in his bed.430 gr maxi ball from a 54 renegade 85 gr pyrodex.huge exit hole and blew a huge section of neck bone out.
