Default What combo do you use with a .50 TC PH?

I have a TC Pro Hunter with the Endeavor barrel (intially purchased the gun with a .308 cal). I have yet to get out there since this will be my first year hunting with it but what combo's are you using with your Pro Hunters and Endeavors to get good groups? I will probably be using BH209 powder.

My Endeavor likes quite a few loads but they all start with 110gr of BH209 and a Win 209 primer. The bullet and sabot combinations are a T/C 250gr. shockwave in a Harvester short black sabot, a Hornady FTX .430/265 gr. bullet in a Harvester green sabot, and a T/C 200gr. shockwave with the supplied blue sabot. All of these combinations will shoot close to an inch in my endeavor if I do my part. Give one of these a try I'm sure it will get you on the right track. Keep us posted on your progress and make sure you ask plenty of questions, there are a lot of great guys on here with a lot on muzzleloading knowledge.

I have an Endeavor almost everything I tried to shoot did well enough. I have not tried any 44 caliber bullets. All the 250 gr I have tried started shooting good at 110 or 115 gr Blackhorn it was usually a matter of finding the sabot the bullet liked to get it to shoot, and this will vary some as the bore diameters do. Mine likes the Short Black Harvester for most bullets and the long black Harvester for Gold Dots and XTP, it will shoot the MMP HPH24 with most of the bullets but it is only better with one bullet. Mine shoots best with the 200gr 40 caliber bullets but requires vary hot loads for best results[ half inch now and then] It shoots better than my 3 X 9 power Nikon can see
I got the 1/2 inch groups by switching and old high powered target scope on just to see what it would do, the target scope is not usable for hunting so it did not stay on.

lemoyne,

How hard are you pushinng the 200 gr. shockwave? What kind of results are you getting on animals? I was thinking about trying it with 120 gr. of BH209.

I use Barnes TMZ 250, 90 grain BH209, and .25 ACP primer. The 250 TC Shockwave, 110 grain BH209, Remington Kleenbore primers work good too.
