Barnes Bullets.....Sold to Holding Co

This was posted on another site - thought I would share it over here C-dog does not come here very often...

Barnes Bullets has been aquired by the Freedom company that owns Remington Arms, Marlin, Bushmaster etc.

The Brooks were not getting any younger and they built a great company
by designing a fantastic bullet. The Barnes bullets have changed the bar on rifle calibers.

I just hope Ty Herring stays on.

I think I'll buy a lifetime supply of 100 grain .257 Triple Shocks for my 25-06. Fantastic bullet. I'd hate to not be able to get them.

Well Barnes are a great bullet. Normally when a company is taken over, I find the product suffers. Lets hope this is not the case.

I have a model 70 sporter in 25-06 and my buddy who is a big time barnes fan,has been trying to get me to shoot that bullet.is it really that good?

Sho `nuff is.

I suspect that if you ever shoot a deer with one you'll never use anything else in your 25-06. In addition, except for Sierras which beat them by a tad, they are the most accurate bullet I've found for my gun.

This one was recovered from under the skin at the rear of the back leg of a buck (170 lbs. if I recall correctly) that I shot "quartering to" in front of the opposite side shoulder at 190 yards.
