Question from a new hunter
I'm new to muzzleloading and was wondering if I could leave the pellets and bullet in the barrel for a long period of time. I'm not leaving the primer in the breach just the pellets and bullet in the barrel. I cleaned it really well and went hunting today which happens to be the last day for muzzleloading and didnt fire it. I just want to make sure it won't sieze up before I shoot it again. I know its not the safest thing but I dont have kids.

I would not.
If the barrel was oiled before you loaded the pellets will soak it up if the barrel was not oiled before you loaded then its taking a chance on rust. |
I would shoot it and clean it.
|
yep, shoot it and clean it spotless

I left one loaded with a clean barrel one time for almost a full year, unprimed of course, it fired fine and after a inspection of the barrel it was fine also.

Depending on you ML, you can just remove the breech plug and unload it. Beats having to discharge it. If this is an option.
