Another TC Pro Hunter ML question

Anyone here use Blackhorn 209 powder in a newer model of TC Pro Hunter ML that has the "E-Z TIP EXTRACTOR" and breech plug?

I've had no problems with ignition in my PH. Left loaded for a couple weeks during hunting season and exposed the rifle to snow and cold. Fired just fine.

I have used it in my Endeavor ever since I got it and have no plans to try any thing else in it.

tjj & lemoyne, are you both shooting it out of PH and Endeavors that have the "E-Z TIP EXTRACTOR" that causes the 209 breech plug to have the slot in the side of it? The reason I am asking that Blackhorn 209 does not recommend using it in any gun with a breech plug where the 209 primer is not fully enclosed. The 209 primer is not fully enclosed in a Pro Hunter or Endeavor with the "E-Z TIP EXTRACTOR" breech plug. http://www.blackhorn209.com/files/pdf/brochure.pdf then scroll down to ignition. I really want to try Blackhorn out but got nervouse when I read this. Hope y'all can tell me no problem.

No Problem, I've actually got a pair of these rifles with the breech plug design that you are describing. Not even a hiccup. The photo you are reffering to, is not a good representation of the PH breechplug. When a primer is inserted in yours, it is encapsulated all the way around. Except where the extractor sets. Many folks take the extractor off because of problems with them, and are still shooting BH with no problems.

No issues at all with my Endeavor either.

I talked to the tech about that, he said the ones they were talking about was the ones that use a slotted nipple type set up. Not any of the completely enclosed breaches.

I just got a new T/C Prohunter a week ago and it shoots Blackhorn great .When I sighted it in it was -25 windchill and nary a missfire. Great ignition with federal primers.

I just got my PH right before Thanksgiving and have been shooting BH through it. This past Christmas day the temp outside was around 20 with 25 mph winds, the gun had been loaded since the Friday night before and it fired perfectly killed a deer at a 150 yards. I have had no problems with mine at all. No hiccups or hangfires of any kind.

I really, really appreciate all the great info. Was also what I was hoping to hear becasue I really want to shoot BH if possible out of my PH. Now all I have to do is find a dealer close to Gulfport, MS. Thanks again.
